Varone Commission for Paul Taylor Dance Company

My new dance, Half Life will premiere as part of the Paul Taylor American Dance Company’s season on March 10th, at Lincoln Center.

The dance is set to a phenomenal score by Julia Wolfe, Lighting Design by James Ingalls and Costume Design by Liz Prince. The dance follows the Wolfe score closely in its structure, as I am constantly changing visuals to match the aural drive of the score. And the Taylor dancers have been amazing to work with! Hope you can find time to see it. -- DOUG VARONE

Repertory

“At the heart of every work, is pure dance making and the creative relationship with my dancers is paramount to this process. I work within a very liberal and open atmosphere, and as a result the dancers are great allies in my dance making. They are intuitive interpreters of the work that I imagine. Its this great trust that allows the work to flourish”
- Doug Varone
