One-Night Only! Join Doug Varone and Dancers for a reprise of our signature [STRIPPED] series.
This is a rare opportunity to see the Company close-up and personal, and hear behind-the-scenes stories. Special guests include Obie and Drama Desk winning actors Jay O. Sanders and Maryann Plunkett; on hand to read several selections of the Billy Collins’ poetry inspiring the Company’s new evening-lengthed work, Ballistics. Live music will be supplied by award winning composer and performance artist David Van Tieghem, as we set out to create a small dance with the audience’s help.
The Bench Quartet is an excerpt from Cantata 78, which launched Doug Varone and Dancers in 1986!
VIP tickets include a reception following the showcase. We hope you will stay and meet Doug and his dancers and continue basking in the excitement of this special evening!
Commissioning funds for Ballistics have been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and the O'Donnell-Green Music and Dance Foundation.

SAVE THE DATE: New Ohio Theatre
Inspired by the complex, haunting imagery of Billy Collins’s poetry, Doug Varone’s new work unfolds 8 interwoven narratives mapping an array of themes: love, solitude, separation, forgiveness, aging. Performed by a multi-generational cast of 20 artists, it delves deep into our memories, creating intimate portraits of ordinary lives. “This new theater piece”, says Varone, “explores a darker and more disturbing range of emotions than has generally characterized my work; it is about the relationships we’ve all survived and their impact on our lives.”
