In November we travel to Fairfax, VA, with a career Epilogue for Doug Varone. In 1987, Doug Varone created a solo for himself set to Chopin's Nocturne #8 in D flat Major, Opus 27, #2. This seminal work set in motion a vocabulary and style that Varone has been mining ever since. Now thirty years later, Varone has choreographed its companion: another solo work for himself to Chopin's Nocturne in E Minor, Opus 72.

Also on the program will be four sections from last year's in the shelter of the fold and an audience favorite, Lux.

Inspired by the complex, haunting imagery of Billy Collins’s poetry, Doug’s new work unfolds in 7 interwoven narratives mapping an array of themes: love, solitude, separation, forgiveness, aging. Performed by a multi-generational cast of 16 artists, it delves deep into our memories, creating intimate portraits of ordinary lives.
